  After paying the minimum payment for over 3 years unnecessarily, I decided to pay off my credit card and cancel my account as I felt financially able to so. Upon contacting Vanquis's customer service representative, out of the blue there was a miraculous deal on my account which would lower my interest rate from 59.9% to 34.9%. I was very polite in explaining that I had other credit cards which had a far better rate and I would like to proceed with the cancellation.
  
  After realising that I was not drawn to his so called "better rate" he proceeded to ask whether he could put the call through to a "secondary department" who would like to discuss a "secondary account". I thought to myself, well this is really desperate, however I agreed to the transfer. After being on hold for a few seconds, I was transferred to a lady who proceeded to inform me that she was from "Fresh Start Bank" and that they were the legal owners of an alleged SKY ACCOUNT which had an overdue balance of £64 and needed to be paid.
  
  I was absolutely disgusted at Vanquis's malicious approach. I could not believe that because I took the business away from them, my call was transferred to a debt recovery company in relation to a totally unrelated matter in an attempt to extort money from me. I paid just shy of £800 on a credit card borrowing of only £250. One would have thought that was enough, but oh no, lets see how much more cash we can squeeze from this mug.
  
  Well no! you are not having any more of my money!
