  Went in for the 1st time this weekend. The food was ok, tasty but my pie was a bit small, but for the price in that location was acceptable. However the service was simply not good. The employees, and mainly the manager of the restaurant area were completely lost incompetent and rude. In a large group they overcharged almost £3 per person (after service) when they divided the bill by 17 guests. Then refunded it back when we noticed. after that they forgot something and forced the person that made the booking to pay it from the deposit. Poor girl had the work and they bullied her until we all realized what was going on and steeped in, but her mood was gone. Shame on you!

  Have been here twice. The food is excellent, but unfortunately they are consistently let down by slow/inattentive service. The first time I went was a couple of years ago. Loved the place, our waitress was fun and great. The most recent time I went in, we were immediately found a table which was great, but we then waited 10+ minutes for someone to come and remind us of the desserts on offer (because they have no menu??!!) and take our order. 30+ minutes later and we still had nothing. It was only when I checked with the wait staff about where our desserts were that the waitress brought us spoons and soon after the desserts arrived. We requested the service to be removed because it was such a long time to wait. It’s a shame because they people are nice, the place is great and has a wonderful ambience but the service is not great. There seems to be a lot of hanging around chatting near the till rather than serving the customers. The 4 stars are for the food. You can do better Yard Cafe!
