  I had a reasonable experience with Capital Car Hire and I would hire with them again. I actually think some of the reviews here are a little harsh - if you drive through the congestion zone, you need to pay! Anyway, here's my experience:
  
  Hired a 12 seater minibus in order to drive to France. The staff were helpful prior to pickup - I had many questions regarding the small print, and also asked about tyre sizes so I could buy snow chains. All questions were answered. One thing that was strange - The initial internet hire was from Kings Road Chelsea but when I rang to ask where their branch is on the Kings Road, I was told the pick up was Marylebone. Not a problem as it is close by.
  
  On the day I went to pick the bus up, all paper work was completed. The van was in good condition (30k on the clock). It was a smooth process. I didn't drive through the congestion charge zone like some others that have left comments... I didn't ask for the van to be delivered to me and expect it to arrive bang on time - I guess if your timing is that tight, go and pick it up yourself!
  
  Another strange thing - the van was speed restricted to 62mph and I was not told before hand. The speed limit is 81mph in France and so travelling 20mph slower on a 1000 mile journey adds some 4 hours to travel time. This really messed up my plan - but had I been aware, I could have planned around this and would have still hired the van.
  
  Dropped off the bus on Monday morning - again a very smooth process. My security deposit of £350 took about a week to hit my account, rather than the 2/3 days stated, but again, I expect that from these sort of companies and I won't begrudge them.
  
  The only reason to take 1 star off for me is they could have told me about the speed restriction on the minibus. As I say, I would have still hired it, but would have planned for a much longer journey time.
