This place is incredible! Everything is spotless, the reformer studio is bright and airy, equipment all feels brand new. Probably my favourite Virgin Active gym in London.
Unsure why there are so many negative reviews, but from what I've seen some of its current members are quite demanding and see anything less than VIP treatment as unacceptable. They refurbished the 'gym' which took several months and it turns out that the main focus was put on the lobby/ entrance area - this company is all about getting more members, they want to make sure that the first impression (the lobby) is good. Once you are a member they don't care about you. The showers have been apart from the lobby refurbished as well and the steam room and sauna. Toilets and rest of the changing rooms remain old.
When I went last week two times in a row, you ask yourself if they have a cleaner at all - the showers are so disgusting, dirty towels everywhere on the floor, old razor blades (which is really dangerous as well) and body hair everywhere-just completely unacceptable.
Studio 1 wasn't of course part of the refurbishment. Water is leaking from the ceiling and wet floor signs are put in the middle of a studio where you have to work out. It was so cold in there, that I caught a cold from doing my class!!!
While you can't find a cleaner in the changing rooms, you will see sometimes 4 people at the reception, being very busy chatting to each other, ignoring customers, not saying hello or good bye.
This club is obviously run by a management that does't care - they are only nice when it comes to selling you the membership.
I am considering to cancel mine and changing to a company that knows how to treat members.
