- Lamisse Bajunaid Review added: 2018.10.14★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆I have been going to Trotters in Kensington for hair cuts and shoe fittings since I myself was a child, so I love to take my kids there. I was there this week to buy my son's first shoes and some dresses and activities for my daughter, and my bill added up to about GBP 260. I paid by visa. I was only asked for ID AFTER the payment was already processed, at that point I explained to them that my picture ID is only in Arabic. They voided my payment and told me to go get cash. This is highly inconvenient because this means the money is only credited back to me in two weeks. I understand that they have the right to request my ID but they should have done that prior to charging my card. Also, this was a chip and pin card and the only point of using chips/pins is to avoid this. I have shopped all around London and I have never been treated in this way. I was extremely offended by the manner in which the store manager spoke to me, especially given that it was their mistake that they did not check BEFORE ACCEPTING THE CARD. which was condecending and accusatory. She kept insisting that this was my fault for having an Arabic photo idea and she kept saying "we have no way of knowing u are truly the owner of the card". Since 1. They should have checked this question BEFORE accepting the card, and 2. Its redicilous to assume Im guilty of theft without any reasonable cause, and even in criminal law the accused are assumed innocent until proven otherwise. the whole ordeal was disappointing and I alone have to deal with the consequences of having money on hold and following up with the bank overseas on my holiday due to their mistake.
