- Laura Gentles Review added: 2018.01.04★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆We arrived around 10pm and were seated, and given a menu. After about 30 seconds we were asked what we wanted to drink and felt rushed. We ordered drinks and about five minutes later while we were looking at the menu, the man who seated us came over and leant over the table to ask if we were ready to order. I said not yet and he said we were the last order and still stood over us. I said OK and then tried to ignore him, but he was still there after about a minute so I looked at him and said, look we will be ordering in the next 5 minutes. He got the hint and left.
I ordered by ticking what I wanted on the menu as you do, our order was wrong. We were served a vegetarian set menu when I know I ticked the box above as I checked it with my partner. We aren't vegetarian! We appreciate it was late and people have homes to go to, but it was so bad. We didn't intend to stay long, just dinner and leave.
The food is NOT like other branches of ping pong, this was tasteless and not really enjoyable. Towards the end of our meal, my partner went to the bathroom and I was still eating. A waitress came up to me with a card machine whilst I had my mouth full and chopsticks in my hand! When I looked at her in shock she said she would come back when I'd finished.
10 minutes later a waiter came over for us to pay, didn't even say hello or look at us. The bill had a discretionary service fee of around £9. This was the first time in any restaurant ever I asked for it to be removed. When I asked he said, "oh are you going to pay the service fee in cash?" I said no, and he pointed at the total with the service fee so I pointed at it and said "yes, it's at my discretion and I have decided not to pay it." He said nothing, and took the machine away, said he would come back with the receipt and never did. Had to go to him to get it where he more or less threw it at me.
The funniest part is we weren't even the last ones in, there were two other tables still there when we left! Disgusting service and poor food/drinks. Someone needs to sort it out!
