On their website the decor is described as a 'glorious setting' giving you a sense that Meat People aspires to punch above its weight. The decor is dominated by artefacts and wood, providing a relaxed and warm space with 10 to 12 tables including outside seating.
Having visited for lunch twice, the service was efficient but slightly apathetic. The menu is refreshingly a simple focused on simple starters, cuts to share and individual cuts. The steak is superb, offering a choice of Uruguayian and British meats. The empanadas - a popular dish in South America - were mediocre and the pastry needs to be thicker and the filling better seasoned.
The a'la carte prices are on the premium end for the area with the Chateaubriand steak to share topping £58. However their lunch special menu served Monday to Friday between 12pm to 4pm is extremely good value including £9.95 for steak and chips and £13 for a burger. Meat People is a good place for a lunch time tasty steak. Stick to the lunch specials menu and you wont be dIsappointed.
