    I don't even know how to begin describing the horrible experience we had with this shop. It couldn't possibly have been worse. We hired Steve and his team for a recarpeting job of a common area staircase and landing.
    We started off with the wrong foot and I should have known then. Firstly I was seen in his shop and given dreadful advice on which ranges to go for, by a man whom was later described by Steve as "merely a fitter". But then Steve himself came over for a site visit/quote, arrived an hour earlier, managed to get himself in, took all the measurements, took off and didn't even bother to make a phone call, which resulted in my husband and I waiting for him for almost half an hour in the car. Instead of going with my gut, he managed to convince me it was all a big misunderstanding, which was the worst mistake I could've made.
    The job was done to a VERY poor standard and bits of sloppy work could be noticed everywhere. Also the wrong colour matt was provided, which he initially denied without even a visit to be sure.
    In fact, Steve never admitted any faults, was extremely aggressive on the phone and started harassing us for payment completion.
    When we said we'd like to get another carpeter to check the work, he went around all the other shops in the neighbourhood basically warning them not to do so, which is hard to understand if you back your work 100% as he claimed to.
    The ordeal went on for over two months and made our Christmas period miserable. He stopped picking up the phone and when he did he was so aggressive, always trying to speak over us. It was honestly a nightmare!
    In the end, after finally finding someone to do the checking, he decided to admit the fitting was sloppy and sent another fitter to fix it.
    I would never work with this man again, even if the carpet was offered to me for free.
    Seriously, STAY AWAY.
