What a pity that this lovely lake has disappeared due to lack of management. I have not visited now for 10 years or so but took my dog there for a walk this afternoon. The lake has essentially disappeared and is completely silted up. There have been some new paths and bridges put in in the immediate area which is nice but there seems to be no effort to maintain the lake at all. It used to support loads of bird life so this is a real pity. There are also no rubbish bins and there was litter and inevitable dog poo bags left by inconsiderate dog walkers.
The reserve is no longer signposted but the path to it can be accessed from a side gate beside a large wooden gate to the left of the Orange Tree pub ( as you come out of the pub onto Totteridge Lane). The path winds down as a continuation of the private road before this road forks left 90 degrees.
