I had a coin worth £4500 roughly thereabouts, I know this because I used to work with coins with my dad until he had to retire for health reasons and we had to sell all the coins we had at the time. My dad was a coin dealer since the mid eighties and he suggested to go to London to sell the coin and others I had or place the coin in an auction, this was a day trip I was looking forward to as I don't get the time to go and explore and I had heard about your business and had also researched other places to go that day. I was offered £250 from yourself which is frankly a joke, I was expecting that given you have business rates to cover and you need to make some profit I would not be given full book price but that was a terrible offer for the grade and rarity of the coin. I was not happy with how me and my partner was spoken to whoever we were served by at the time, it came across as though because we were young we would be naive to any knowledge about coins when I myself collect Georgian coins and my partner adores early Victorian coins, this man didn't even seem to look properly at any of the coins I brought in that day. I went to Spink in the end who were delighted to see the coin and others I had brought along with me and had also noted a potential minting error we pointed out on one of the coins which they said they would look into and notify me further about, the coin made £400 less what the guide price was but it was a much better price and was very happy in the end. I have already posted this before but it had been deleted so when you claim you care and want to improve I don't quite believe that and despite not working with coins anymore I still see many of my past customers around and they get me to look at their coins and value them and they want me to recommend them the best place to sell or auction and I could never recommend yourselves I am sad to say. The prices in your newspaper are far from the mark, if I had charged my customers the prices you ask I would not have made any money, I know living in London you need to charge a premium but I honestly don't know how you get away with it.
