  I was very disappointed with the level of service I received from Bolt, Burdon, Kemp. In 2014 I obtained legal advice from BBK, who appointed a counsel to provide legal opinion. This was a simple case, over breach of contract by an online exchange, who imposed illegal retrospective charges in breach of an express term of their own contract, but the advice via their chosen barrister was that a claim would not succeed. I therefore settled the claim, but subsequent advice suggests that this was a poor decision. I am pursuing a professional negligence claim against BBK. Many years ago, in 1991, I accepted £500 in compensation from the Solicitors Indemnity Fund for the action by then Bolt, Burdon (before they became Bolt, Burdon, Kemp) then at Theberton Street, who mishandled a claim against the Maxwell organisation. Unfortunately it was not a case of “once bitten, twice shy”, as the company had changed name and moved, and I did not recall the previous matter 25 years ago, until further problems emerged now.
  
  BBK also forwarded a confidential email without authority to the barrister, and were referred by the Legal Ombudsman for possible misconduct to the Solicitor Regulatory Authority:
