I came in and talked to a manager around 6 pm and told him we’d be dining there for my daughter’s birthday around 7:30. He told us they’d set up a table for 5 in front of the gin cabinets and bring out a tray of assorted sweets (on the house).
We were running late so I called and said we’d be in closer to 8. I was told that would be no problem. Sure enough, we get there and our table had been given away. (OK, that’s understandable). There were no large tables left so they crammed us in at one of the small lounge tables (not a big deal but don’t tell me it’s no problem if it kinda is a problem.)
Already long story short — the waitress disappeared for long stretches and our meal dragged on for ages. And the sweet tray? Yeah, you guessed it — never arrived. But by that time, we had no intention of staying another minute. But two wrongs don’t make a right.
